New interactive ear, nose and throat examination

Karolinska University Hospital has a new ear, nose, throat and cochlear clinic (ÖNHC) which offers the latest in sophisticated examination techniques.
It will now be possible to offer more patients higher quality examinations which will also provide increased knowledge. Fibre optics, video and image recording are some of the new standard instruments used in examinations. Images of complex cases will be routinely stored in digital format which provides a better basis for medical diagnoses and increased security for the patients. The technology also offers more opportunities for interaction between physician and patient since they can jointly review and discuss images of the examined areas. The clinic also features a newly established sleep laboratory focusing primarily on sleep quality in tired snorers who do not suffer from so-called sleep apnoea.
