Karolinska in Stockholm
- Medical centre of excellence

Stockholm Care - Coordinating link between the international community and medical services of excellence.

Stockholm, home to the Nobel Prize, has a long tradition of sophisticated research and leading edge competence. In the medical area this is most clearly reflected in the close collaboration between the Karolinska University Hospital, one of Europe’s leading university hospitals, and Karolinska Institutet, one of the largest medical universities in Europe. Each year, the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet awards the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Stockholm Care provides:

  • Cross border care (highly specialised medical care)
  • Cross border medical training programmes
  • Cross border transfer of knowledge in the medical field on a consultancy basis

Stockholm Care, owned by the County Council, represents the major hospitals and several specialised clinics in Stockholm.
